The History and Bounty of Lake Fork

Lake Fork is an amazing fishery that could be considered a "Master Planned Community" for fish to live in. With over 80% of it's timber remaining untouched as the lake was filled, it's a fish's paradise for growing large and strong. Boaters beware, this same timber can be a hazard for you if you fail to observe where the boat lanes are, and haphazardly drive over trees just below the water's surface.

Lake Fork has produced 36 of the top 50 largemouth bass in Texas. Benefiting from an aggressive stocking of "Florida Strain Black Bass" by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the very popular "Budweiser ShareLunker Program," the lake continues to produce an abundance of lunkers year after year.

Just as popular on Lake Fork is the crappie fishing. With plentiful supplies of both white and black crappie, the lake provides entertainment (and food) all year round.

Channel catfish are in great supply in the lake as well. Using your favorite bait, you can fill up a cooler with fish in no time when you find that right place on the lake.
